The
Republic of Ghana is a country of 23,000,000 people in West Africa.
It borders Côte d'Ivoire to the west, Burkina Faso to the
north, Togo to the east, and the Gulf of Guinea to the south.
The word "Ghana" means "Warrior King" and it was chosen as
the name of the new nation upon it's independence from the United
Kingdom in 1957.
It is said by some that Ghana is geographically the center of the world as it is only a few degrees from the equator and the Greenwich Meridian passes right through it. Ghana was the first African country to establish a diplomatic presence in Australia. For more information of Ghana Please click here. |
